How to Add Vendor Information

Vendor information automatically populates document merge fields.

  1. From the StartDeck Dashboard, click the avatar icon in the upper-right corner and click Vendor. This will open the vendor form.
  2. StartDeck supports two vendors for cases where there are two document authors.

Enter Vendor Information. Each field on the vendor form has a corresponding document merge field like ‘Vendor_Company’ for example. When these fields are present in a project document, Vendor data will populate the merge fields. Vendor details may be edited at any time.

 

Tip: Client and Vendor details may be edited in the StartDeck Writer sidebar or Dashboard (as shown above).

 


Vendor Information & Merge Fields #

Each vendor field has a dedicated document merge field (see Advanced below). We have already created these fields for you in our templates as well as saved them to the StartDeck Content Library. 

Inserting Vendor Merge fields from Content Library 

Insert vendor merge fields
  1. Content Library > StartDeck Content
  2. Filter by ‘Client / Vendor Fields’
  3. Select ‘Vendor 1 and Vendor 2 Field Set’
  4. The are options here:
    1. Insert the field set at cursor
    2. Preview/Edit
